ORDINANCE
Amending Article 22 and Article 23 of the Ordinance
Preambleon preferential treatment for revolutionary activists, martyrs, and families of martyrs, war invalids, disabled veterans, persons who participated in the resistance war, and persons who contributed to the revolution
activities of resistance, persons with meritorious service in supporting the revolution
Pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1992 as amended and supplemented by Resolution No. 51/2001/QH10 dated December 25, 2001 of the Tenth National Assembly, tenth session;
This Ordinance amends and supplementsArticle 22 and Article 23 of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for revolutionary activists, martyrs, and families of martyrs, war invalids, disabled veterans, persons who participated in the resistance war, and persons who contributed to the revolution issued on August 29, 1994.
Article 1. Amending and supplementing Article 22 and Article 23 of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for revolutionary activists, martyrs, and families of martyrs, war invalids, disabled veterans, persons who participated in the resistance war, and persons who contributed to the revolution:
1. Article 22 is amended and supplemented as follows:
"Article 22. Persons contributing to the revolution as defined in Clause 7 of Article 1 of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for revolutionary activists, martyrs, and families of martyrs, war invalids, disabled veterans, persons who participated in the resistance war, and persons who contributed to the revolution are those who have made achievements in assisting the revolution during difficult and dangerous times and have been awarded the Commemorative Medal "National Recognition" or the Certificate "Contributed to the Country," the War Resistance Medal, or the War Resistance Badge."
2. Article 23 is amended and supplemented as follows:
"Article 23.
1. Persons contributing to the revolution who have been awarded the Commemorative Medal "National Recognition" or the Certificate "Contributed to the Country" shall receive monthly allowances and preferential treatments equivalent to those provided to the families of martyrs.
2. Persons contributing to the revolution who have been awarded the War Resistance Medal shall receive monthly allowances and other preferential treatments as prescribed by the Government.
3. Persons contributing to the revolution who have been awarded the War Resistance Badge shall receive a one-time allowance. The amount and duration of the allowance shall be as prescribed by the Government."
Article 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from January 1, 2003.
Previous regulations contrary to this Ordinance are abolished.
Article 3. The Government shall provide detailed regulations and guidance for the implementation of this Ordinance./.
