Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Sin Ho District and Muong Te District, Lai Chau Province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to Decree No. 22/2003/QH11 dated November 26, 2003 of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Session XI, fourth session on the division and adjustment of administrative boundaries of some provinces;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau Province (former);
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of Sin Ho District and Muong Te District, Lai Chau Province are adjusted as follows:
1. Dissolve Le Loi Ward (Lai Chau City) to establish Le Loi Commune. Merge Le Loi Commune into Sin Ho District.
2. Merge Pu Dao and Chan Nua Communes (Muong Lay District) into Sin Ho District.
3. Merge Thanh Chu Village of Xa Tong Commune (Muong Lay District) with 813 hectares of natural area and 328 population into Tu Sin Chai Commune under Sin Ho District.
4. Transfer Nam Hang Commune under Muong Lay District to Muong Te District.
After the adjustment of administrative boundaries:
- Sin Ho District has 203,875.60 hectares of natural area and 75,942 population, including 24 subordinate administrative units comprising communes Ma Quai, Phang So Lin, Noong Heo, Ta Phin, Lang Mo, Pa Tan, Hong Thu, Can Co, Nam Cuoi, Nam Tam, Nam Cha, Pu Sam Cap, Hoi Long, Tu Sin Chai, Phin Ho, Nam Ban, Ta Ngao, Nam Han, Nam Ma, Xa De Phin, Le Loi, Pu Dao, Chan Nua, and Sin Ho Town.
- Tu Sin Chai Commune under Sin Ho District has 9,683 hectares of natural area and 3,284 population.
- Muong Te District has 367,883 hectares of natural area and 47,406 population, including 15 subordinate administrative units comprising communes Bum Nya, Bum To, Muong Mo, Muong Te, Mu Ca, Ka Lang, Thu Lum, Nam Khao, Kan Ho, Hua Bun, Ta Tong, Pa U, Pa Ve Su, Nam Hang, and Muong Te Town.
- Lai Chau Province (new) has 906,512.30 hectares of natural area and 313,511 population, including 5 subordinate administrative units being districts: Phong Tho, Tam Duong, Muong Te, Sin Ho, and Than Uyen.
Article 2This Decree takes effect 15 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the Interim People's Committee of Lai Chau Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
