DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries and expansion of Ha Dong town,
in Ha Tay province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the People's Committee of Ha Tay province and the Minister of Home Affairs,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted and Ha Dong town, Ha Tay province, is expanded as follows:
1. Incorporating 67.64 hectares of natural area and 1,097 population from Phuong Bai hamlet, Phung Chau commune, Chuong My district into Bien Giang commune under Thanh Oai district.
Bien Giang commune has 270.30 hectares of natural area and 5,942 population.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries, Phung Chau commune retains 711.82 hectares of natural area and 11,449 population.
2. Transferring all of Bien Giang and Dong Mai communes under Thanh Oai district with 904.49 hectares of natural area and 18,490 population; and Duong Noi commune under Hoai Duc district with 585.31 hectares of natural area and 15,766 population to be managed by Ha Dong town.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries and expanding Ha Dong town:
- Ha Dong town has 4,791.74 hectares of natural area and 173,707 population, comprising 15 subordinate administrative units including Nguyen Trai, Quang Trung, Phuc La, Van Mo, Yet Kieu, Ha Cau, Van Phuc wards and Van Ke, Kien Hung, Phu Luong, Phu Lam, Yen Nghia, Bien Giang, Dong Mai, Duong Noi communes.
Administrative boundary of Ha Dong town: East borders Hanoi city; West borders Chuong My, Quoc Oai, Hoai Duc districts; South borders Thanh Oai, Chuong My districts; North borders Hanoi city.
- Thanh Oai district retains 12,378.19 hectares of natural area and 167,166 population, comprising 21 subordinate administrative units including Bich Hoa, Thanh Cao, Cao Vien, Binh Minh, Thanh Mai, Tam Hung, Thanh Thuy, Cu Khe, My Hung, Thanh Van, Kim An, Kim Thu, Phuong Trung, Do Dong, Tan Uoc, Dan Hoa, Hong Duong, Lien Chau, Cao Duong, Xuan Duong communes and Kim Bai town.
- Hoai Duc district retains 8,238.47 hectares of natural area and 169,566 population, comprising 20 subordinate administrative units including An Khanh, An Thượng, Cat Que, Duong Lieu, Di Trach, Dong La, Dak So, Duc Giang, Duc Thượng, Kim Chung, Lai Yen, La Phu, Minh Khai, Son Dong, Song Phuong, Tien Yen, Van Cong, Van Canh, Yen So communes and Tram Troi town.
- Chuong My district retains 23,226.51 hectares of natural area and 276,191 population, comprising 32 subordinate administrative units including Thuy Huong, Lam Dien, Hoang Dieu, Thuan Vuc, Van Vo, Phu Nam An, Hoa Chinh, Dong Phu, Hong Phong, Hop Dong, Quang Bi, Dai Yen, Ngoc Hoa, Tien Phuong, Truong Yen, Tot Dong, Trung Hoa, Phu Nghia, Dong Phuong Yen, Dong Son, Thanh Binh, Thuy Xuan Tien, Tan Tien, Nam Phuong Tien, Hoang Van Thu, Huu Van, My Luong, Tran Phu, Dong Lac, Phung Chau communes and Chuc Son, Xuan Mai towns.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The People's Committee of Ha Tay province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
