PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Law on Science and Technology dated June 9, 2000;

Pursuant to the Electricity Law dated December 3, 2004;

At the proposal of the Minister of Science and Technology,

DECISION:

Article 1. Approve the "Atomic Energy Application Strategy for Peaceful Purposes until 2020" issued together with this Decision.

Article 2. Implementation of the strategy

The Ministry of Science and Technology shall perform state management functions over atomic energy, radiation safety, and nuclear safety, be responsible for managing and guiding the implementation of the "Atomic Energy Application Strategy for Peaceful Purposes until 2020"; take the lead and coordinate with relevant agencies to implement cross-sector issues within the content of the Strategy, and report annually to the Prime Minister.

Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, governmental agencies, People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities shall be responsible for taking the lead and coordinating with the Ministry of Science and Technology and related ministries, sectors, and localities to implement specific tasks assigned in the Strategy, and report annually to the Prime Minister and send reports to the Ministry of Science and Technology for consolidation.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 4. The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government agencies, Chairmen of provincial People's Committees under the central government are responsible for implementing this Decision.
