Issuing Regulations on Food Safety and Hygiene for Tobacco Products

THE MINISTER OF HEALTH

Pursuant to Decree No. 49/2003/NĐ-CP dated May 15, 2003, concerning the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health;

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 12/PL-UBTVQH dated July 26, 2003, on Food Safety and Hygiene issued by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and Decree No. 163/2004/NĐ-CP dated September 7, 2004, detailing certain provisions of the Food Safety and Hygiene Ordinance issued by the Government;

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 18/1999/PL-UBTVQH dated December 24, 1999, on Product Quality issued by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly;

Pursuant to Decree No. 179/2004/NĐ-CP dated October 21, 2004, on State Management of Product and Goods Quality, and Decree No. 89/2006/NĐ-CP dated August 30, 2006, on Product Labeling issued by the Government;

Pursuant to Resolution No. 12/2000/NQ-CP dated August 14, 2000, on National Policy to Combat the Harms of Tobacco from 2000 to 2010 issued by the Government;

At the proposal of the Director of the Department of Science and Training, The Director of the Food Safety and Hygiene Inspection Bureau, Ministry of Health,hereby issues this Decision.

DECISION:

Article 1. Attached to this Decision are "Regulations on Food Safety and Hygiene for Tobacco Products"

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The Decision No. 2019/2000/QĐ-BYT dated June 30, 2000, of the Minister of Health on "Temporary Regulations on Tobacco Cigarette Hygiene" is hereby repealed.

Article 3. The Heads of the Office, Inspectorate of the Ministry of Health, Directors of the Departments of Legal Affairs, Science and Training; Director of the Food Safety and Hygiene Inspection Bureau, Directors of Provincial Health Services under central cities, Heads of related units under the Ministry of Health, Heads of Health Services of relevant sectors are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
