Decree No. 03/2005/NĐ-CP On the establishment of Tuy Hoa city under Phu Yen province; adjustment of administrative boundaries to expand Tuy Hoa city and establish Phu Lam ward under Tuy Hoa city

DECREE

Regarding the establishment of Tuy Hoa city under Phu Yen province; adjustment of administrative boundaries to expand Tuy Hoa city and establish Phu Lam ward under Tuy Hoa cityadministrative decision to expand the city of Tuy Hoà and establish the ward of Phu Lam under the city of Tuy Hoà Phú Lâm belongs to the city of Tuy Hoà

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen province,

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, Tuy Hoa city is established, administrative boundaries are adjusted to expand Tuy Hoa city and establish Phu Lam ward under Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province as follows:

1. Establish Tuy Hoa city directly under Phu Yen province based on the entire natural area, population, and administrative units subordinate to Tuy Hoa town.

Tuy Hoa city has 6,436 hectares of natural area and 123,820 inhabitants, including 12 subordinate administrative units comprising wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and communes Binh Ngoc, Binh Kien, and Hoa Kien.

2. Adjustment of administrative boundaries to expand Tuy Hoa city:

a) Transfer the entire 2,187 hectares of natural area and 7,734 inhabitants of An Phu commune, Tuy An district to be managed by Tuy Hoa city.

b) Transfer the entire 2,059 hectares of natural area and 30,724 inhabitants of Phu Lam town, Tuy Hoa district to be managed by Tuy Hoa city.

3. Establish Phu Lam ward based on the entire 2,059 hectares of natural area and 30,724 inhabitants of Phu Lam town (which has been transferred to Tuy Hoa city).

Administrative boundary of Phu Lam ward: East borders the East Sea; West borders Hoa Thanh commune, Tuy Hoa district; South borders Hoa Hiep Bac commune, Tuy Hoa district; North borders Binh Ngoc commune and ward 6 of Tuy Hoa city.

4. After adjusting administrative boundaries to expand Tuy Hoa city and establishing an additional ward under Tuy Hoa city:

a) Tuy Hoa city has 10,682 hectares of natural area and 162,278 inhabitants, including 14 subordinate administrative units comprising wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Phu Lam ward, and communes Binh Ngoc, Binh Kien, Hoa Kien, and An Phu.

Administrative boundary of Tuy Hoa city: East borders the East Sea; West borders Phu Hoa and Son Hoa districts; South borders Tuy Hoa district; North borders Tuy An district.

b) Tuy An district retains 39,934 hectares of natural area and 127,916 inhabitants, including 16 subordinate administrative units comprising communes An Xuan, An Nghia, An Ninh Tay, An Ninh Dong, An Thach, An Dan, An Cu, An Hiep, An Tho, An Hai, An My, An Linh, An Dinh, An Hoa, An Chan, and Chi Thanh town.

c) Tuy Hoa district retains 88,007 hectares of natural area and 232,413 inhabitants, including 20 subordinate administrative units comprising communes Hoa Thanh, Hoa Binh 1, Hoa Binh 2, Hoa Phong, Hoa Phu, Hoa My Tay, Hoa My Dong, Hoa Dong, Hoa Tan Dong, Hoa Tan Tay, Hoa Thinh, Hoa Xuan Tay, Hoa Xuan Dong, Hoa Xuan Nam, Hoa Vinh, Hoa Tam, Hoa Hiep Trung, Hoa Hiep Nam, Hoa Hiep Bac, and Son Thanh.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen province, the Minister of Interior, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
