Regarding the adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Long Phu district to establish Cu Lao Dung district; establishing communes and towns under Cu Lao Dung district, Soc Trang province to establish the district of Cu Lao Dung; establish communes and townsbelonging to the district of Cu Lao Dung, province of Soc Trang

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government,

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of Long Phu district are adjusted to establish Cu Lao Dung district; establishing communes and towns under Cu Lao Dung district, Soc Trang province as follows:

1. Establishing Cu Lao Dung district based on 23,606.29 hectares of natural area and 58,031 population from An Thanh 1, An Thanh 2, An Thanh 3, and Dai An 1 communes of Long Phu district.

Administrative boundaries of Cu Lao Dung district: East borders Tra Vinh province; West borders Long Phu district; South borders the East Sea; North borders Tra Vinh province.

After establishing Cu Lao Dung district, Long Phu district remains with 45,529.53 hectares of natural area and 171,289 population, including 15 administrative units comprising the communes: Long Phu, Song Phung, Dai Ngai, Hau Thanh, Truong Khanh, Long Duc, Phu Huu, Chau Khanh, Tan Hung, Tan Thanh, Dai An 2, Trung Binh, Lio Tu, Lich Hoi Thượng and the town of Long Phu.

2. Establishing the following communes and towns under Cu Lao Dung district:

a) Establishing An Thanh Tay commune based on 1,759.55 hectares of natural area and 4,620 population from An Thanh 1 commune.

Administrative boundaries of An Thanh Tay commune: East borders Cu Lao Dung town; West borders Long Duc commune and Long Phu town; South borders Dai An 1 commune; North borders An Thanh 1 commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish An Thanh Tay commune, An Thanh 1 commune remains with 3,073.05 hectares of natural area and 8,576 population.

b) Establishing Cu Lao Dung town (district capital) based on 905.7 hectares of natural area and 5,148 population from An Thanh 2 commune.

Administrative boundaries of Cu Lao Dung town: East borders An Thanh Dong commune; West borders An Thanh Tay commune and Dai An 1 commune; South borders An Thanh 2 commune; North borders An Thanh Tay commune and An Thanh Dong commune.

c) Establishing An Thanh Dong commune based on 4,195.84 hectares of natural area and 9,159 population from An Thanh 2 commune.

Administrative boundaries of An Thanh Dong commune: East borders Tra Vinh province; West borders An Thanh Tay commune, Cu Lao Dung town and An Thanh 2 commune; South borders An Thanh 2 commune; North borders Tra Vinh province.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Cu Lao Dung town and An Thanh Dong commune, An Thanh 2 commune remains with 2,217.87 hectares of natural area and 6,761 population.

d) Establishing An Thanh Nam commune based on 2,721.1 hectares of natural area and 5,509 population from An Thanh 3 commune.

Administrative boundaries of An Thanh Nam commune: East borders the East Sea; West borders Trung Binh commune; South borders the East Sea; North borders Dai An 1 commune and An Thanh 3 commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish An Thanh Nam commune, An Thanh 3 commune remains with 4,604.63 hectares of natural area and 9,981 population.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish the communes and town mentioned in Clause 2, Cu Lao Dung district has 8 administrative units comprising An Thanh 1, An Thanh 2, An Thanh 3, Dai An 1, An Thanh Tay, An Thanh Dong, An Thanh Nam communes and Cu Lao Dung town.

Article 2. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province, the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government and Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
