DECREE
Regarding the establishment of the City of Yen Bai under Yen Bai Province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government,
DECREE:
Article 1. The City of Yen Bai under Yen Bai Province shall be established based on the entire natural area and population of the town of Yen Bai, Yen Bai Province.
The City of Yen Bai has a natural area of 5,802 hectares and a population of 81,234; it includes 11 administrative units directly under its jurisdiction, namely: the wards Nguyen Phuc, Hong Ha, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Yen Ninh, Dong Tam, Yen Thinh, Minh Tan, and the communes: Tuy Loc, Nam Cuong, Tan Thinh, and Minh Bao. The administrative boundary of the City of Yen Bai: East borders with Yen Binh District; West borders with Tran Yen District; South borders with Yen Binh District and Tran Yen District; North borders with Yen Binh District and Tran Yen District. Yen Bai Province now has nine district-level administrative units including: the City of Yen Bai, Nghia Lo Town, and the districts: Van Yen, Van Chan, Tram Tau, Tran Yen, Luc Yen, Mu Cang Chai, and Yen Binh.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of signature. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai Province, the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
