DECISION OF THE MINISTER OF HEALTH
Regarding the issuance of guidelines for diagnosing and treating HIV infection.

THE MINISTER OF HEALTH
Based on the Government's Decree No. 49/2003/NĐ-CP dated May 15, 2003, stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health;
Based on the Ordinance on Prevention and Control of Infection with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) dated May 31, 1995;
At the proposal of the Director of the Treatment Department,
DECISION:
Article 1. The guidelines for diagnosing and treating HIV infection are hereby issued together with this Decision.
Article 2. These guidelines shall be applied in all state, private, and semi-state medical facilities.
Article 3. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The Decision No. 1451/2000/QĐ-BYT dated May 8, 2000, of the Minister of Health regarding the issuance of Guidelines for Diagnosing and Treating HIV/AIDS in Vietnam is hereby repealed.
Article 4. The Heads of the Office, Directors of the Treatment Department, Inspector General, Directors of other Departments under the Ministry of Health, Directors of the Preventive Medicine and HIV/AIDS Control Bureau, Directors of the Drug Administration Bureau; Directors of hospitals under the Ministry of Health, Directors of Provincial Health Services, and Heads of Health Departments at central city levels are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
