RESOLUTION

Regarding the amendment and supplementation of the Constitution of 1992 and the establishment of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution of 1992

SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM

Pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1992, as amended and supplemented by Resolution No. 51/2001/QH10;

After considering Report No. 11/TTr-UBTVQH13 dated August 2, 2011, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the implementation of the policy of researching, amending, and supplementing the Constitution of 1992, Report No. 12/TTr-UBTVQH13 dated August 2, 2011, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the establishment of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution of 1992, and the opinions of the members of the National Assembly,

RESOLUTION:

Article 1

Decides to amend and supplement the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1992 (amended and supplemented in some articles in 2001) in accordance with the new situation, in line with the objectives, requirements, viewpoints, and directions for amending and supplementing the Constitution of 1992 as stated in Report No. 11/TTr-UBTVQH13 dated August 2, 2011, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

Article 2

Establishes the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution of 1992 (hereinafter referred to as the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution) consisting of the following individuals:

1. Nguyen Sinh Hung, Member of the Politburo,

2. Uong Chu Luu, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy

3. Le Hong Anh, Member of the Politburo, Permanent Member of the Secretariat, Member.

4. Nguyen Thi Doan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy

5. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Member of the Politburo,

6. Tong Thi Phong, Member of the Politburo, Deputy

7. To HuuRua, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Organization Department, Member.

8. Dinh The Huynh, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Member.

9. Phung Quang Thanh, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Defense, Member.

10. Tran Dai Quang, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, Member.

11. Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, Member.

Article 3

1. The Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution shall be responsible for organizing the review of the implementation of the Constitution of 1992 and drafting the amendments to the Constitution for submission to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

2. The Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution shall issue its Rules of Operation, establish an Editorial Board to assist the Committee.

3. The Office of the National Assembly shall be responsible for ensuring the necessary funding and other conditions, and organizing support for the activities of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the Constitution and the Editorial Board.

This Resolution was adopted by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 13th Session, First Meeting, on August 6, 2011.
