CIRCULAR
REGULATING THE IMPORT OF ADDITIONAL SUGAR UNDER THE TARIFF QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2010

Pursuant to Decree No. 189/2007/ND-CP dated December 27, 2007, issued by the Government, detailing the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;
BASED ON THE DECREE NO. 12/2006/NĐ-CP OF JANUARY 23, 2006 ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO DETAIL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TRADE LAW REGARDING INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE ACTIVITIES AND FOREIGN TRADE AGENCY ACTIVITIES;
TO IMPLEMENT THE GUIDANCE OF THE PRIME MINISTER IN THE LETTER NO. 955/VPCP-KTTH OF FEBRUARY 10, 2010 ON THE IMPORT OF SUGAR FOR STABILIZATION PRICES;
THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE REGULATES THE IMPORT OF ADDITIONAL SUGAR UNDER THE TARIFF QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2010 AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. QUANTITY OF ADDITIONAL QUOTA
THE QUANTITY OF TARIFF QUOTA FOR THE IMPORT OF ADDITIONAL SUGAR (WHITE SUGAR, HS CODE 1701 99 11 00) FOR THE YEAR 2010 IS 50,000 METRIC TONS (FIFTY THOUSAND METRIC TONS).
ARTICLE 2. ALLOCATION OF TARIFF QUOTA FOR IMPORT OF SUGAR
THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE SHALL ISSUE IMPORT LICENSES UNDER THE TARIFF QUOTA FOR WHITE SUGAR AT THE REQUEST OF TRADERS FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE TARIFF QUOTA MENTIONED ABOVE.
Article 3. Effectiveness
THIS CIRCULAR TAKES EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF SIGNATURE UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2010./.
