RESOLUTION NO. 08/1998-PL-UBTVQH10 OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEE
DECEMBER 1, 1998 AMENDING ARTICLE 21 OF THE ORDINANCE ON PRIVILEGES FOR REVOLUTIONARY ACTIVISTS, MARTYRS AND THEIR FAMILIES, WAR INVALIDS, DISABLED VETERANS, ANTI-WAR ACTIVISTS, AND PERSONS WITH MERIT IN ASSISTING THE REVOLUTION
PRIVILEGES FOR REVOLUTIONARY ACTIVISTS, MARTYRS AND THE FAMILIES OF MARTYRS, WAR INVALIDS, DISEASED SOLDIERS, ANTI-WAR ACTIVISTS, AND PERSONS WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE REVOLUTIONARY EFFORT

WHEREAS Article 91 of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam 1992;

WHEREAS the 1998 Law Building Program;

This Ordinance amends Article 21 of the Ordinance on Privileges for Revolutionary Activists, Martyrs and Their Families, War Invalids, Disabled Veterans, Anti-War Activists, and Persons with Merit in Assisting the Revolution dated August 29, 1994.

Article 1

Article 21 of the Ordinance on Privileges for Revolutionary Activists, Martyrs and Their Families, War Invalids, Disabled Veterans, Anti-War Activists, and Persons with Merit in Assisting the Revolution is amended as follows:

"Article 21

Anti-war activists reaching the age of 60 for males and 55 for females shall be entitled to monthly allowances or lump-sum allowances based on their years of participation in the anti-war movement, as prescribed by the Government.

In special cases, anti-war activists who have not yet reached the age of 60 for males and 55 for females may also be entitled to lump-sum allowances based on their years of participation in the anti-war movement, as prescribed by the Government.

Those supporting the anti-war movement who are receiving monthly allowances but are not entitled to salaries, pensions, or long-term disability benefits, upon death, the person organizing the funeral shall be granted funeral expenses and burial costs.

Article 2

This Decree takes effect from the date of publication.

All previous provisions contrary to this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

Article 3

The Government shall promulgate detailed regulations to implement this Ordinance.
