DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Muong Te district and Muong Lay district to establish Muong Nhe district and the division of Phong Tho district to establish Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province
GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Government Organization dated September 30, 1992;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau Province and the Minister, Head of the Personnel and Organization Department of the Government,
DECREE:
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of Muong Te district and Muong Lay district shall be adjusted to establish Muong Nhe district, and the administrative boundaries of Phong Tho district shall be divided to establish Tam Duong district as follows:
1. Muong Nhe district shall be established based on 170,286 hectares of natural area and 12,153 population from Muong Te district; and 80,504 hectares of natural area and 13,364 population from Muong Lay district.
Muong Nhe district has 250,790 hectares of natural area and 25,517 population, including six subordinate administrative units which are communes: Sin Thou, Chung Chai, Muong Nhe, Muong Toong, Cha Cang, and Na Hy.
Administrative boundary of Muong Nhe district: East borders Muong Te district; West borders the Lao People's Democratic Republic; South borders the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Muong Lay district; North borders the People's Republic of China and Muong Te district.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Muong Nhe district:
- Muong Te district retains 333,995 hectares of natural area and 31,473 population, including fourteen subordinate administrative units which are communes: Bum Nua, Bum To, Muong Mo, Muong Te, Mu Ca, Ka Lang, Thu Lum, Nam Khao, Can Ho, Hua Bum, Ta Tong, Pa U, Pa Ve Su, and market town Muong Te.
- Muong Lay district retains 242,523.5 hectares of natural area and 52,290 population, including fourteen subordinate administrative units which are communes: Lay Nua, Muong Tung, Chan Nua, Nam Hang, Pu Dao, Pa Ham, Huu Ngai, Houu Leng, Xa Tong, Muong Muon, Cha Nua, Cha To, Si Pa Phin, and market town Muong Lay.
2. Tam Duong district shall be established based on 82,843.7 hectares of natural area and 52,567 population from Phong Tho district.
Tam Duong district has fifteen subordinate administrative units which are communes: Lan Nhi Thang, Then Sin, Sung Phai, Nam Long, Nung Nang, Tam Duong, Ta Leng, Ban Hon, Ban Giang, Ho Thau, Binh Lu, Ban Bo, Kun Ha, Na Tam, and market town Phong Tho.
Administrative boundary of Tam Duong district: East borders Lao Cai province; West and South border Sìn Hồ district; North borders Phong Tho district.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Tam Duong district, Phong Tho district retains 81,910 hectares of natural area and 44,769 population, including fifteen subordinate administrative units which are communes: Muong So, Nam Xe, Kong Lao, Hoang Then, Ban Lang, Mali Pho, Dao San, Mu Sang, Tung Qua Linh, Vang Ma Chai, Ma Li Chai, Pa Va Su, Mo Si San, Si Lo Lau, and Sin Sui Ho.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after the date of signature. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree shall be abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau Province, the Minister, Head of the Personnel and Organization Department of the Government, and the Heads of relevant agencies shall be responsible for implementing this Decree./.
