- BASED ON THE CULTURAL HERITAGE LAW 28/2001/QĐ10 dated June 29, 2001;
- BASED ON THE DECREE NO. 81/CP dated November 8, 1993 OF THE GOVERNMENT ON THE FUNCTIONS, TASKS, POWERS, AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE- INFORMATION;
- BASED ON THE DECISION NO. 123/TTg dated March 1, 1995 OF THE PRIME MINISTER ON THE REORGANIZATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF UNITS UNDER THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE- INFORMATION;
- BASED ON THE DECISION NO. 2523/TC-QĐ dated July 29, 1995 OF THE MINISTER OF CULTURE- INFORMATION ON THE FUNCTIONS, TASKS, POWERS, AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE MUSEUM PRESERVATION DEPARTMENT;

Article 1. AMEND AND SUPPLEMENT THE FUNCTIONS OF THE MUSEUM PRESERVATION DEPARTMENT AS FOLLOWS: "THE MUSEUM PRESERVATION DEPARTMENT IS AN AGENCY SUBORDINATE TO THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE- INFORMATION WITH THE FUNCTION OF ASSISTING THE MINISTER OF CULTURE- INFORMATION IN MANAGING STATE AFFAIRS REGARDING CULTURAL HERITAGE (INCLUDING INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE AND TANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE). IT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECTING, GUIDING, AND INSPECTING THE WORK OF PROTECTING AND ENHANCING THE VALUE OF CULTURAL HERITAGE ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PARTY'S POLICIES AND THE STATE'S LAWS."
Article 2. THIS DECISION SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF SIGNATURE. PREVIOUS PROVISIONS CONTRARY TO OR DUPLICATE THIS DECISION ARE ABROGATED.
Article 3. THE CHIEF OF THE MINISTRY'S OFFICE, THE HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION-CADRES DEPARTMENT, THE DIRECTOR OF THE MUSEUM PRESERVATION DEPARTMENT, AND THE HEADS OF RELATED AGENCIES AND UNITS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS DECISION.
