AGREEMENT

Between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Republic of Mozambique on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports

The Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Republic of Mozambique, hereinafter referred to collectively as the "Parties" and individually as the "Party";

Desiring to strengthen historical political and social relations.

Desiring to further enhance friendly relations and simplify entry and temporary stay regulations for holders of diplomatic and official passports between the two countries.

Have agreed as follows:

Article 1. Citizens of each Party holding valid diplomatic or official passports shall be exempt from visa requirements for entry and exit and may temporarily reside on the territory of the other Party for no more than ninety (90) days.

Article 2.

1. Citizens of each Party who are members of diplomatic missions or consular offices on the territory of the other Party and their family members, holding valid diplomatic or official passports, shall be exempt from visa requirements for entry and exit and may temporarily reside on the territory of the other Party throughout their term of service.

2. Within ninety (90) days of entry, those mentioned in Clause 1 of this Article must complete the necessary registration procedures with the competent authority of the host country.

Article 3. Citizens of each Party holding valid diplomatic or official passports may enter and exit the territory of the other Party through international border gates.

Article 4. This Agreement does not exempt citizens of one Party holding diplomatic or official passports from the obligation to comply with laws and regulations currently in force on the territory of the other Party.

Article 5. Each Party has the right to refuse entry or shorten the period of temporary stay of citizens of the other Party holding diplomatic or official passports if they are considered undesirable persons.

Article 6. One Party may suspend the implementation of this Agreement for reasons of public order, national security, or public health. Any suspension or termination thereof must be immediately notified to the other Party through diplomatic channels.

Article 7.

1. The Parties will exchange samples of diplomatic and official passports through diplomatic channels after this Agreement enters into force.

2. In case of introducing new models of diplomatic and official passports, the Parties will exchange new passport samples through diplomatic channels at least sixty (60) days before their introduction.

Article 8. This Agreement may be amended upon mutual agreement of the Parties through the exchange of diplomatic notes.

Article 9.

1. This Agreement shall enter into force on the thirtieth (30th) day following the date of receipt of the final notification by which the Parties notify each other through diplomatic channels that all domestic procedures for the Agreement to enter into force have been completed.

2. This Agreement shall remain in force indefinitely and continue to be effective until the ninetieth (90th) day following the date on which one Party notifies the other Party of its intention to terminate the Agreement's effectiveness through diplomatic channels.

For purposes of authentication, the undersigned, duly authorized representatives of their respective Governments, have signed this Agreement.

Done at Maputo on April 4, 2008, in two originals, in Vietnamese, Portuguese, and English; all texts being equally authentic. In case of any discrepancy in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
