Decision No. 09/2004/QĐ-BGTVT on temporarily setting speed limits and height for container transport vehicles

DECISION OF THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORT

Regarding the temporary regulation on speed and height of container transport vehicles

THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

WHEREAS, the Road Traffic Law dated June 29, 2001;

Pursuant to Decree No. 34/2003/NĐ-CP dated April 4, 2003 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport;

At the request of the Director of the Transport Department and the Director General of the Vietnam Highway Administration,

DECISION:

Article 1. Special-purpose vehicles transporting containers with a height (container height + trailer floor height or semi-trailer floor height) greater than 4.2 meters up to 4.35 meters are permitted to travel on national highways that have been comprehensively upgraded and announced in Decision No. 2074/2003/QĐ-BGTVT dated July 16, 2003 of the Minister of Transport regarding the load capacity and width limits for national highways. When passing through underpasses or overpasses, such vehicles must travel at a speed not exceeding 30 kilometers per hour and the driver must ensure absolute safety for the structures.

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect from the date of signing.

Article 3. The Heads of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Transport Department, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, and the Heads of related agencies and units are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
