Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries to establish communes, wards, and towns in the districts of Vinh Thuan, Kien Luong, Phu Quoc, Hon Dat, and the city of Rach Gia, in Kiengiang Province city of Rạch Giá, province of Kiên Giang

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang Province.
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes, wards, and towns in the districts of Vinh Thuan, Kien Luong, Phu Quoc, Hon Dat, and the city of Rach Gia, in Kiengiang Province as follows:
1. Establishing the commune of Hoa Chanh in Vinh Thuan district based on 4,255.3 hectares of natural area and 10,195 population from the commune of Vinh Hoa. The administrative boundary of the commune of Hoa Chanh: East borders Go Quao district; West borders Vinh Hoa commune and An Bien district; South borders Vinh Binh Bac commune; North borders Go Quao district. After establishing the commune of Hoa Chanh, Vinh Hoa commune retains 3,027.7 hectares of natural area and 9,286 population.
2. Transferring all three ấp (Ba Hon, Hoa Lap, Xa Nac) of Duong Hoa commune in Kien Luong district with 1,910.6 hectares of natural area and 8,539 population under the management of Kien Luong town. After adjusting the administrative boundaries and transferring the three ấp of Duong Hoa commune to Kien Luong town: Kien Luong town has 21,410.6 hectares of natural area and 29,925 population. Duong Hoa commune retains 4,235.4 hectares of natural area and 6,123 population. Establishing the commune of Kien Binh in Kien Luong district based on 17,910.6 hectares of natural area and 5,638 population from Kien Luong town. The administrative boundary of the commune of Kien Binh: East borders Hon Dat district; West borders Kien Luong town and Hoa Dian commune; South borders Binh An commune; North borders Vinh Dieu commune. After establishing the commune of Kien Binh, Kien Luong town retains 3,500 hectares of natural area and 24,287 population. The administrative boundary of Kien Luong town: East borders Kien Binh commune; West borders the East Sea; South borders Binh An commune; North borders Duong Hoa and Hoa Dian communes.
3. Establishing the town of An Thoi in Phu Quoc district based on 2,691 hectares of natural area and 15,573 population from An Thoi commune. The administrative boundary of the town of An Thoi: East and West border the East Sea; South borders Hòn Thơm commune; North borders Duong To commune.
4. Establishing the commune of Hon Tho in Phu Quoc district based on the remaining natural area and population of An Thoi commune. Hon Tho commune has 571 hectares of natural area and 2,076 population. The administrative boundary of Hon Tho commune: East, West, and South border the East Sea; North borders An Thoi town.
5. Establishing the commune of My Phuoc in Hon Dat district based on 4,279.89 hectares of natural area and 6,384 population from My Lam commune. The administrative boundary of the commune of My Phuoc: East borders My Hiep Son commune, Tan Hiep district, and Rach Gia city; West borders Soc Son commune and Rach Gia city; South borders My Lam commune; North borders My Hiep Son commune. After establishing the commune of My Phuoc, My Lam commune retains 3,988.47 hectares of natural area and 16,039 population.
6. Establishing the ward of Vinh Bao in Rach Gia city based on 77.38 hectares of natural area and 17,789 population from Vinh Lac ward. The administrative boundary of the ward of Vinh Bao: East borders Vinh Hiep ward; West borders the East Sea; South borders Vinh Lac ward; North borders Vinh Thanh Van ward. After establishing the ward of Vinh Bao, Vinh Lac ward retains 174.62 hectares of natural area and 16,002 population.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.
Article 3The Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang Province, the Minister of Interior, and the Heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
