DECREE
REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CAO LAU CITY IN DONG THAP PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR AND THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF DONG THAP PROVINCE.
DECREE:
Article 1. CAO LAU CITY IN DONG THAP PROVINCE SHALL BE ESTABLISHED ON THE BASIS OF THE ENTIRE NATURAL AREA, POPULATION, AND SUBORDINATE ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS OF CAO LAU TOWN.
CAO LAU CITY HAS AN AREA OF 10,719.54 HA AND A POPULATION OF 149,837, WITH 15 ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS INCLUDING WARD 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, HOA THUAN, MY PHU, AND COMMUNES MY TAN, HOA AN, TIEN THOI, TAN THUAN DONG, TAN THUAN TAY, MY TRA, MY NGAI.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF CAO LAU CITY ARE AS FOLLOWS: TO THE NORTH AND EAST ADJACENT TO CAO LAU DISTRICT; TO THE SOUTH ADJACENT TO LAP VO DISTRICT, DONG THAP PROVINCE; TO THE WEST ADJACENT TO CHO MOI DISTRICT, AN GIANG PROVINCE.
DONG THAP PROVINCE SHALL HAVE 11 FIRST-LEVEL ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS, INCLUDING DISTRICTS CAO LAU, CHAU THANH, HONG NGU, LAI VUNG, LAP VO, TAM NONG, TAN HONG, THANH BINH, THAP MUOI, SA DEC TOWN AND CAO LAU CITY.
Article 2. THIS DECREE SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS AFTER ITS PUBLICATION IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE. ALL PRIOR PROVISIONS CONTRARY TO THIS DECREE SHALL BE ABROGATED.
Article 3. THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF DONG THAP PROVINCE AND THE HEADS OF RELATED ORGANIZATIONS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS DECREE./.
