DECREE
Regarding the establishment of the city of Hoi An under the province of Quang Nam

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Establish the city of Hoi An under the province of Quang Nam based on the entire natural area, population, and administrative units directly subordinate to the town of Hoi An.
The city of Hoi An has an area of 6,146.88 hectares and a population of 121,716, with 13 administrative units, including the wards: Minh An, Son Phong, Cam Nam, Cam Pho, Thanh Ha, Tan An, Cam Chau, Cam An, Cuu Dai and the communes: Cam Ha, Cam Thanh, Cam Kim, Tan Hiep.
The administrative boundaries of the city of Hoi An: East borders the East Sea; West borders the districts of Dien Ban and Duy Xuan; South borders the district of Duy Xuan; North borders the district of Dien Ban, Quang Nam Province.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
