CIRCULAR

ISSUING THE LIST OF POPULATION PLACE NAMES, MOUNTAIN AND WATER NAMES, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL NAMES TO SERVE THE TASK OF ESTABLISHING THE MAP OF HANOI CITY

Pursuant to the Law on Surveying and Mapping dated June 14, 2018;

Pursuant to Decree No. 68/2022/NĐ-CP dated September 22, 2022 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment;

At the request of the Director of the National Survey, Mapping and Geographical Information Department and the Head of the Legal Department;

The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment issues this Circular on issuing the List of population place names, mountain and water names, economic and social names to serve the task of establishing the map of Hanoi city.

Article 1.

Attached herewith is the List of population place names, mountain and water names, economic and social names to serve the task of establishing the map of Hanoi city.

Article 2.

This Circular takes effect from October 1, 2022.

Article 3.

Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Circular./.

LIST OF PLACE NAMES

POPULATION, MOUNTAIN AND WATER, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL NAMES TO SERVE THE TASK OF ESTABLISHING THE MAP OF HANOI CITY

Part I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. The List of population place names, mountain and water names, economic and social names to serve the task of establishing the map of Hanoi city is standardized from place names on national topographic maps at a scale of 1:25,000 in the National Coordinate System VN-2000 within the territory of Hanoi city.

2. The List of population place names, mountain and water names, economic and social names to serve the task of establishing the map of Hanoi city is arranged alphabetically according to the names of district administrative units including districts, towns, and counties, wherein:

a) The "Place Name" column contains standardized place names. Place names with the same name within the same commune administrative unit are noted in parentheses to distinguish them.

b) The "Group of Objects" column contains symbols representing groups of place names, wherein: DC represents population place names, KX represents economic and social place names, SV represents mountain place names, TV represents water place names.

c) The "Name of Commune Administrative Unit" column contains the names of commune administrative units, wherein: P. is an abbreviation for "ward", TT. is an abbreviation for "town".

d) The "Name of District Administrative Unit" column contains the names of district administrative units, wherein: Q. is an abbreviation for "district", TX. is an abbreviation for "town", H. is an abbreviation for "county".

e) The "Relative Coordinates of Object" column contains the relative coordinates of the corresponding geographic object listed in the "Place Name" column. If the geographic object is represented on the map by a point symbol or area symbol, the coordinate value corresponds to the "Central Coordinate" column. If the geographic object is represented on the map by a line symbol, the coordinate value corresponds to the "Starting Coordinate" and "Ending Coordinate" columns.

f) The "Topographic Map Sheet Code" column contains the code of the national topographic map at a scale of 1:25,000 containing the standardized place name in the "Place Name" column.
