Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and the establishment of communes under Ba To district and Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province
THE GOVERNMENT
On the basis of Law on the Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province,
DECREE
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of communes and the establishment of communes under Ba To district and Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province shall be adjusted as follows:
1. Establishing Ba Giang commune under Ba To district based on the adjustment of 5,419.82 hectares of natural area and 1,521 population from Ba Dinh commune.
Ba Giang commune has 5,419.82 hectares of natural area and 1,521 population.
Administrative boundary of Ba Giang commune: East borders Ba Dien and Ba Vinh communes, Ba To district; West borders Ba Ngac, Ba Tieu communes, Ba To district and Son Ba commune, Son Ha district; South borders Ba Dinh and Ba To communes, Ba To district; North borders Son Ky and Son Ba communes, Son Ha district.
2. Establishing Son Long commune under Son Tay district based on the adjustment of 4,240.67 hectares of natural area and 2,154 population from Son Dung commune.
Son Long commune has 4,240.67 hectares of natural area and 2,154 population.
Administrative boundary of Son Long commune: East borders Son Mau and Son Tinh communes, Son Tay district; West borders Dak Ring commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province; South borders Son Lap commune, Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province; North borders Son Dung commune, Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province.
3. Establishing Son Lien commune under Son Tay district based on the adjustment of 3,718.23 hectares of natural area and 1,535 population from Son Mua commune.

4. Establishing Son Mau commune under Son Tay district based on the adjustment of 3,718.23 hectares of natural area and 1,599 population from Son Tan commune.
Son Mau commune has 3,718.23 hectares of natural area and 1,599 population.
Administrative boundary of Son Mau commune: East borders Son Thuong commune, Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province; West borders Son Long and Son Dung communes, Son Tay district; South borders Son Tinh commune, Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province; North borders Son Tan commune, Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries:
- Ba Dinh commune retains 3,575.95 hectares of natural area and 3,685 population.
Ba To district has 113,669.52 hectares of natural area and 49,766 population, with 20 subordinate administrative units including communes: Ba Dinh, Ba Dien, Ba Tieu, Ba Kham, Ba Thanh, Ba Bich, Ba Ngac, Ba Vi, Ba Le, Ba Vinh, Ba To, Ba Nam, Ba Trang, Ba Xa, Ba Dong, Ba Chua, Ba Cung, Ba Lien, Ba Giang and Ba To town.
- Son Dung commune retains 4,587.82 hectares of natural area and 3,207 population.
- Son Mua commune retains 3,716.35 hectares of natural area and 3,572 population.
- Son Tan commune retains 3,666.45 hectares of natural area and 2,243 population.
Son Tay district has 38,221.68 hectares of natural area and 17,475 population, with 09 subordinate administrative units including communes: Son Dung, Son Bua, Son Lap, Son Tinh, Son Tan, Son Mua, Son Long, Son Lien, Son Mau.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Article 3. The Minister of Home Affairs, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, and the heads of relevant agencies shall be responsible for implementing this Decree.
