DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries and the establishment of Cuu Viet Town under Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. The administrative boundaries are adjusted and Cuu Viet Town under Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province, is established as follows:
1. Cuu Viet Town under Gio Linh District is established based on 318.54 hectares of natural area and 1,982 population of Gio Hai Commune, and 415.74 hectares of natural area and 2,518 population of Gio Viet Commune.
Cuu Viet Town has 734.28 hectares of natural area and 4,500 population.
Administrative boundary of Cuu Viet Town: East borders the East Sea; West borders Gio Thanh and Gio Viet Communes; South borders Trieu Phong District; North borders Gio Hai Commune.
2. Adjust 286.60 hectares of natural area and 386 population of Gio Thanh Commune under Gio Linh District to be managed by Gio Viet Commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries and establishing Cuu Viet Town:
- Gio Hai Commune retains 992.74 hectares of natural area and 3,475 population.
- Gio Thanh Commune retains 1,257.59 hectares of natural area and 2,615 population.
- Gio Viet Commune has 394.42 hectares of natural area and 5,170 population.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
