THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

Pursuant to Decree No. 22/CP dated March 22, 1994 of the Government on the tasks, authorities, responsibilities for state management, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport;

Pursuant to the Law on Typhoon and Flood Prevention issued by the President on March 20, 1993;

Pursuant to Decree No. 32/CP dated May 20, 1996 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Ordinance on Typhoon and Flood Prevention;

Pursuant to the Civil Servants Ordinance and Anti-Corruption Ordinance dated February 26, 1998;

Pursuant to Decision No. 581/TTg dated July 25, 1999 of the Prime Minister issuing the Typhoon and Flood Reporting Regulations;

Based on the Decision No. 1808/QĐ-BGTVT dated July 22, 1999 of the Minister of Transport establishing the storm and flood prevention committee under the Minister of Transport;

To strengthen state management in the prevention, mitigation, and recovery from typhoons and floods in the inland waterway sector;

Considering the proposal of the Head of the Typhoon and Flood Prevention Board and the Director of the Legal Affairs Department - Transport Department:

Article 1: Attached hereto is the "Regulation on Prevention, Mitigation, and Recovery from Typhoons and Floods in the Inland Waterway Sector".

Article 2: This Decision takes effect fifteen days after the date of signature.

All previous regulations concerning the prevention, mitigation, and recovery from typhoons and floods in the inland waterway sector that conflict with this Decision are hereby abolished.

Article 3: The Typhoon and Flood Prevention Board of the Ministry shall be responsible for monitoring, urging, inspecting, and explaining the implementation of this regulation.

Article 4: The Heads of the Ministry's Inspectorate, Directors of Departments, Heads of Boards, Directors of Provincial Transport Departments, and Heads of related agencies and units are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
