OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE NUMBER 1079 TC/QĐ/TCT ON NOVEMBER 21, 1996 REGARDING TAXATION FOR GOVERNMENT BONDS AND OTHER TYPES OF BONDS AND SHARES

DECREE No. 11 IN 1996 ON TAXATION OF GOVERNMENT BONDS AND OTHER TYPES OF BONDS AND SHARES

Article 2.-

THE MINISTER OF FINANCE

Pursuant to the Income Tax Law and the Law amending and supplementing certain Articles of the Income Tax Law.

Pursuant to Decree No. 72/CP dated July 26, 1994 of the Government on promulgating regulations for issuing various types of government bonds.

Pursuant to Decree No. 120/CP dated September 17, 1994 of the Government "Issuing Interim Regulations on Issuance of Bonds and Shares by State-Owned Enterprises."

Pursuant to Decision No. 445/TTg dated August 23, 1994 of the Prime Minister regarding issuance of bills by the State Bank.

Pursuant to Decree No. 05/CP dated October 20, 1995 of the Government detailing implementation of the Income Tax Ordinance for high-income individuals.

At the proposal of the Director General of the General Department of Taxation.

DECISION

Article 1.- Interest from government bonds purchased by individuals is exempt from tax to the State budget.

Organizations, associations, economic entities, and enterprises of all forms must pay taxes in accordance with the Law.

Article 2.- This Decision takes effect from the date of issuance; any previous regulations inconsistent with this Decision are repealed.

Bonds and bills issued or extended before the effective date of this Decision shall be exempt from tax for the period of issuance or extension.

Article 3.-  The Director General of the General Department of Taxation, the Director General of the State Treasury, the Head of the Ministry of Finance's Office, and entities purchasing government bonds are responsible for implementing this Decision.
