Decree No. 108/2003/NĐ-CP on adjusting administrative boundaries to expand the city district, establish new wards, and adjust administrative boundaries of wards under Hưng Yên City District, Hưng Yên Province.

DECREE

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries to expand the city of Hung Yen, establish wards, and adjust the administrative boundaries of the wards within the city of Hung Yen, province of Hung Yen

and adjust the administrative boundaries of the wards,

in Hưng Yên Town, Hưng Yên Province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen Province,

DECREE

Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of the districts of Tien Lu and Kim Dong are adjusted to expand the city of Hung Yen, establish a ward, and adjust the administrative boundaries of the wards within the city of Hung Yen, province of Hung Yen, as follows:

1. Transfer the entire area of 541.12 hectares of natural land and 8,913 population of Trung Nghia commune, 534 hectares of natural land and 6,676 population of Lien Phuong commune, 362 hectares of natural land and 4,034 population of Hong Nam commune, 830.30 hectares of natural land and 7,540 population of Quang Chau commune under the district of Tien Lu; the entire area of 397.82 hectares of natural land and 5,692 population of Bao Khe commune under the district of Kim Dong to be managed by the city of Hung Yen.

2. Establish An Tao ward based on 322.56 hectares of natural land and 8,444 population of Hien Nam ward.

Administrative boundary of An Tao ward: East borders Trung Nghia commune; West borders Lam Son and Hien Nam wards; South borders Hien Nam ward and Lien Phuong commune; North borders Bao Khe commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish An Tao ward, Hien Nam ward will remain with 389.44 hectares of natural land and 6,648 population.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries of the districts of Tien Lu and Kim Dong to expand the city of Hung Yen and establish a ward within the city of Hung Yen:

The city of Hung Yen has 4,680.36 hectares of natural land and 76,409 population, including 12 subordinate administrative units comprising the wards: Hien Nam, Lam Son, Le Loi, Quang Trung, Minh Khai, Hong Chau, An Tao, and the communes: Trung Nghia, Lien Phuong, Hong Nam, Quang Chau, Bao Khe.

Administrative boundary of the city of Hung Yen: East borders the district of Tien Lu; West borders the province of Ha Nam; South borders the district of Tien Lu and the province of Ha Nam; North borders the district of Kim Dong.

The district of Tien Lu remains with 9,242 hectares of natural land and 104,072 population, including 18 subordinate administrative units comprising the communes: Hung Dao, Ngo Quyen, Nhat Tan, Di Che, Le Xa, An Vien, Duc Thang, Trung Dung, Hai Trieu, Thu Si, Thien Phien, Thuy Loi, Cuong Chinh, Minh Phuong, Phuong Chieu, Tan Hung, Hoang Hanh, and the town of Vuong.

The district of Kim Dong remains with 11,464.87 hectares of natural land and 122,650 population, including 19 subordinate administrative units comprising the communes: Nghia Dan, Toan Thang, Vinh Xa, Ngua Lao, Tho Vinh, Dong Thanh, Song Mai, Chinh Nghia, Nhan La, Phu Thinh, Mai Dong, Duc Hop, Hung An, Ngoc Than, Vu Xa, Hiep Cuong, Phu Cuong, Hung Cuong, and the town of Luong Bang.

3. Adjusting the administrative boundaries of the wards within the city of Hung Yen:

Adjust 48.76 hectares of natural land and 1,565 population from Hien Nam ward to be managed by Le Loi ward.

Adjust 1.40 hectares of natural land and 240 population from Le Loi ward to be managed by Hien Nam ward.

Adjust 9.48 hectares of natural land and 15 population from Lam Son ward to be managed by Hien Nam ward.

Adjust 0.46 hectares of natural land and 40 population from Le Loi ward to be managed by Quang Trung ward.

Adjust 1.0 hectare of natural land and 120 population from Hong Chau ward to be managed by Quang Trung ward.

Adjust 166.39 hectares of natural area and 1,850 population of Hong Chau Ward under the management of Minh Khai Ward.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries of the wards belonging to Hung Yen Town:

a) Hiem Nam Ward has 351.56 hectares of natural area and 5,338 population.

b) Lam Son Ward has 762.42 hectares of natural area and 6,528 population.

c) Le Loi Ward has 94.20 hectares of natural area and 6,440 population.

d) Quang Trung Ward has 44.58 hectares of natural area and 8,141 population.

đ) Minh Khai Ward has 223.19 hectares of natural area and 5,411 population.

e) Hong Chau Ward has 216.61 hectares of natural area and 3,252 population.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
