DECREE
Regarding the establishment of communes, wards, and towns under the districts of Hon Dat, An Bien, Tan Hiep, and the city of Rach Gia, Kiengiang province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang Province and the Minister of Home Affairs,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes, wards, and towns under the districts of Hon Dat, An Bien, Tan Hiep, and the city of Rach Gia, Kiengiang province as follows:
1. Establishing An Binh ward under the city of Rach Gia based on 479.75 hectares of natural area and 13,794 population from An Hoa ward.
Administrative boundary of An Binh ward: East borders with Chau Thanh district; West borders with An Hoa ward; South borders with Vinh Loi and Rach Soi wards; North borders with Vinh Hiep ward.
After establishing An Binh ward, An Hoa ward will have 447.25 hectares of natural area and 17,099 population remaining.
2. Establishing Soc Son town under Hon Dat district based on 2,206.88 hectares of natural area and 15,082 population from Soc Son commune.
Administrative boundary of Soc Son town: East borders with My Lam commune; West borders with Son Kien commune; South borders with My Lam commune and the East Sea; North borders with Son Kien and My Thuan communes.
After establishing Soc Son town, Soc Son commune will retain 3,762.25 hectares of natural area and 7,320 population. Renaming Soc Son commune to My Thuan commune.
3. Establishing Thanh Yen A commune under An Bien district based on 2,388.90 hectares of natural area and 7,359 population from Thanh Yen commune.
Administrative boundary of Thanh Yen A commune: East borders with Thanh Yen commune; West borders with Dong Yen commune; South borders with Thanh Yen commune and An Minh district; North borders with Dong Yen commune and Go Quao district.
After establishing Thanh Yen A commune, Thanh Yen commune will retain 3,007.90 hectares of natural area and 9,969 population.
4. Establishing Tan An commune under Tan Hiep district based on 3,415.50 hectares of natural area and 8,234 population from Tan Hiep A commune.
Administrative boundary of Tan An commune: East borders with Tan Hiep A commune; West borders with Tan Hoi commune; South borders with Tan Hiep A commune and Chau Thanh district; North borders with Tan Thanh and Tan Hiep B communes.
After establishing Tan An commune, Tan Hiep A commune will retain 3,801.40 hectares of natural area and 13,153 population.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
