DIRECTIVE
ON CONTROLLING THE RATE OF MARKET PRICE INCREASES IN TRANSPORTATION ACTIVITIES
On August 1, 2007, the Prime Minister issued Directive No. 18/2007/CT-TTg on urgent measures to control the rate of market price increases.
To implement the Prime Minister's Directive, the Minister of Transport requests the Directors of specialized transport management agencies, Directors of provincial transportation departments and municipal transportation and public works departments, Heads of units and enterprises, and relevant transport associations within their respective jurisdictions to promptly carry out the following measures:
- Promptly disseminate and popularize policies and measures for controlling the rate of freight and passenger fare increases among agencies, organizations, and enterprises under their management.
- Require transportation enterprises to urgently develop and implement effective cost-saving solutions, rationalize production processes, modernize transport equipment, and use energy efficiently and effectively to create reasonable transport costs.
- Coordinate with price control authorities in the finance sector to inspect compliance with pricing regulations and measures taken by enterprises to control fare increases. Strictly handle any actions that take advantage of the situation to arbitrarily increase fares and exploit passengers and cargo owners.
The Minister of Transport requests Heads of relevant agencies and units to promptly carry out assigned tasks.
