Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Education Law dated June 14, 2005;

Pursuant to Decision No. 47/2001/QĐ-TTg dated April 4, 2001 of the Government approving the planning of the network of universities and colleges for the period 2001-2010;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Education and Training at Circular No. 1948/TTr-BGD&ĐT dated March 14, 2006 on the establishment of the Electric Power University.

Article 1. Establishing the Electric Power University based on the Electric Power College.

Article 2. The Electric Power University is a higher education institution under the Vietnam Electricity Corporation, Ministry of Industry, having legal personality, its own seal and separate account; its headquarters is located in Hanoi City.

Article 3. The Electric Power University operates according to the Statutes of Universities issued together with Decision No. 153/2003/QĐ-TTg dated July 30, 2003 of the Government and current laws.

Article 4. This Decision takes effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial and municipal People's Committees directly under the Central Government, General Director of the Vietnam Electricity Corporation, and Rector of the Electric Power University are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
