DECREE
Regarding the establishment of the city of Quang Ngai under Quang Ngai province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to Decree No. 72/2001/NĐ-CP dated October 5, 2001 of the Government on classification of urban areas and urban management levels;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. The city of Quang Ngai under Quang Ngai province shall be established based on the entire natural area, population, and administrative units directly under the Quang Ngai City.
The city of Quang Ngai has an area of 3,712 hectares and a population of 133,843, comprising 10 administrative units including the wards: Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Nghiem, Tran Hung Dao, Nghia Chanh, Chanh Lo, Nghia Lo, Tran Phu, Quang Phu and the communes: Nghia Dung, Nghia Dong.
The administrative boundary of the city of Quang Ngai: to the north borders Son Tinh district; to the south, east, and west borders Tu Nghia district.
Quang Ngai province has 14 administrative units directly under it, including the districts: Binh Son, Son Tinh, Tu Nghia, Duc Pho, Ba Tro, Son Tay, Tra Bong, Minh Long, Tay Tra, Son Ha, Ly Son, Nghia Hanh, Mo Duc and the city of Quang Ngai.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Minister of Home Affairs, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
