THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY

Pursuant to the Law on Minerals dated March 20, 1996 and Decree No. 68/CP dated November 1, 1996 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Law on Minerals;

Pursuant to the Ordinance on Protecting State Secrets dated October 28, 1991 and the Regulation on Protecting State Secrets No. 84/HĐBT dated March 9, 1992 of the Council of Ministers;

Pursuant to Decree No. 74/CP dated November 1, 1995 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Decree No. 79/CP dated December 4, 1996 of the Government regarding the establishment of the Vietnam Geological and Mineral Resources Department;

Pursuant to Decision No. 170/TTg dated April 11, 1994 of the Prime Minister on the list of state secrets in the Heavy Industry sector;

At the proposal of the Director of the Vietnam Geological and Mineral Resources Department,

Article 1. Attached hereto is the "Regulations on the content and procedures for confirming the legality of geological documents and mineral samples taken out of the country."

Article 2. The Vietnam Geological and Mineral Resources Department under the Ministry of Industry is the specialized state management agency responsible for confirming the legality of geological documents and mineral samples taken out of the country pursuant to Article 2, Clause 4, Decree No. 79/CP dated December 4, 1996 of the Government.

Article 3. These regulations shall be uniformly implemented throughout the country and take effect from the date of issuance. All previous regulations that conflict with these regulations are hereby abolished.

Article 4. Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-affiliated agencies, provincial People's Committees, cities directly under the central government, organizations, and individuals requesting to take geological documents and mineral samples out of the country are responsible for implementing this Decision.
