Regarding the establishment of La Gi City, Binh Thuan Province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of Ham Tan District are adjusted to establish La Gi City in Binh Thuan Province and establish the wards and communes under La Gi City as follows:
1. Establish La Gi City based on the entire natural area and population of La Gi Town and the communes Tan An, Tan Thien, Tan Binh, Tan Hai in Ham Tan District.
La Gi City has 18,282.64 hectares of natural area and 112,558 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of La Gi City: East borders Ham Tan Nam District; West borders Ham Tan District; South borders the East Sea; North borders Ham Tan District.
2. Establish the wards and communes under La Gi City:
a) Establish Phuoc Hoi Ward based on 160.38 hectares of natural area and 18,445 inhabitants of La Gi Town; 16.62 hectares of natural area and 1,115 inhabitants of Tan Thien Commune.
Phuoc Hoi Ward has 177 hectares of natural area and 19,560 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Phuoc Hoi Ward: East borders Binh Tan Ward; West borders Tan Phuoc Commune; South borders Phuoc Loc Ward; North borders Tan Thien and Binh Tan Wards.
b) Establish Phuoc Loc Ward based on 145 hectares of natural area and 17,873 inhabitants of La Gi Town.

Tan Phuoc Commune has 3,273.17 hectares of natural area and 8,598 inhabitants.

g) Establish Tan Tien Commune based on 4,171.50 hectares of natural area and 9,183 inhabitants of Tan Hai Commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish La Gi City and its affiliated wards and communes:
La Gi City has 18,282.64 hectares of natural area and 112,558 inhabitants, with nine directly subordinate administrative units including Phuoc Hoi, Phuoc Loc, Tan Thien, Tan An, Binh Tan Wards and Tan Phuoc, Tan Tien, Tan Hai, Tan Binh Communes.
Ham Tan District retains 72,952 hectares of natural area (according to the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province) and 70,515 inhabitants, with nine directly subordinate administrative units comprising Tan Thang, Son My, Tan Ha, Tan Xuan, Tan Nghia, Song Phan, Tan Duc, Tan Phuc Communes and Tan Minh Town.
Binh Thuan Province has ten directly subordinate administrative units including Phan Thiet City, La Gi City, and the districts of Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Tan Bac, Ham Tan Nam, Ham Tan, Tanh Linh, Duc Linh, and Phu Quy.
Article 2.This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3.The Minister of Interior, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
