REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE LONG DINH FRUIT TREE CENTER UNDER THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
THE PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
To promote research and application of technological advancements to develop fruit trees in the Southern region;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry;
DECIDES:
Clause 4 of Article 6The Long Dinh Fruit Tree Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is hereby established.
The Long Dinh Fruit Tree Center is a scientific and training organization for fruit trees, funded by the State, with its own seal and separate bank account.
The center's headquarters is located in Long Dinh Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province (on the site of the current Long Dinh Agricultural Technical Secondary School).
Article 2. The Long Dinh Fruit Tree Center shall have the following tasks:
- Research and resolve scientific and technological issues related to fruit trees in the Southern region, including breeding, planting, care, harvesting, preservation, and processing of fruit products.
- Guide and transfer scientific and technological advancements to fruit tree production in Southern provinces.
- Train and enhance technical and scientific staff on fruit trees.
In conducting scientific research and training, the center must closely collaborate with Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, and other research and training institutions in the Southern region.
Article 3. The Long Dinh Fruit Tree Center shall be headed by a Director and assisted by Deputy Directors. The Director and Deputy Directors of the Center shall be appointed and relieved of duty by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Specific tasks and organizational structure of the Center shall be defined by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Article 4. This Decision takes effect from the date of issuance.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Minister of Education and Training, the Minister of Science and Technology, the Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, and Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities in the Southern region shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.
