REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MUONG THANH TOWN, THE DISTRICT CAPITAL OF DIEN BIEN DISTRICT, LAI CHAU PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT
BASED ON THE LAW ON GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION ON DECEMBER 30, 1992;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LAI CHAU PROVINCE AND THE MINISTER - HEAD OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ORGANIZATION BOARD OF THE GOVERNMENT,
DECREE:
Article 1. NOW, MUONG THANH TOWN, THE DISTRICT CAPITAL OF DIEN BIEN DISTRICT IS ESTABLISHED ON THE BASIS OF 356.25 HA OF NATURAL AREA AND 5276 POPULATION OF THANH XUONG COMMUNE.
THE BOUNDARIES OF MUONG THANH TOWN: EAST ADJACENT TO NOONG BUA COMMUNE (DIEN BIEN PHU CITY); WEST ADJACENT TO THANH HUNG COMMUNE; SOUTH ADJACENT TO THANH XUONG COMMUNE; NORTH ADJACENT TO MONG THANH WARD (DIEN BIEN PHU CITY).
AFTER ADJUSTING THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES, THANH XUONG COMMUNE WILL HAVE 1843.75 HA OF NATURAL AREA AND 4256 POPULATION.
Article 2. THIS DECREE SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS AFTER ITS DATE OF ISSUANCE. ALL PRIOR PROVISIONS CONTRARY TO THIS DECREE SHALL BE ABROGATED.
Article 3. THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LAI CHAU PROVINCE AND THE MINISTER - HEAD OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ORGANIZATION BOARD OF THE GOVERNMENT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS DECREE./.
