DECISION OF THE PRIME MINISTER
On the allowance system for service in the People's Police force
PRIME MINISTER
Based on the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Pursuant to Decision No. 144/2000/QĐ-TTg dated December 14, 2000 of the Prime Minister on the allowance system for service;
At the proposal of the Minister of Public Security,
DECISION:
Article 1. Officers of the People's Police with ranks of General, Lieutenant General, Major General, and Brigadier General or holding the position of Director-General shall be entitled to the service allowance.
In case they concurrently hold multiple positions, they shall receive the highest level of service allowance.
Article 2. The levels of service allowance are stipulated as follows:
1. The service allowance is VND 300,000/month applicable to officers with the rank of General and Lieutenant General.
2. The service allowance is VND 150,000/month applicable to officers with the rank of Major General, Brigadier General, and the position of Director-General.
The source of funds for paying the service allowance shall be allocated within the annual budget estimate of the agency or unit. For the year 2001, the Ministry of Public Security will use the allocated funds in the budget estimate to pay for those entitled to the service allowance.
Article 3.
1. Officers of the People's Police who are transferred from a position with a higher service allowance to a position with a lower service allowance shall retain their previous service allowance according to current regulations.
2. Officers of the People's Police specified in Article 1 of this Decision, upon retirement, death, or cessation of their position, shall cease to receive the service allowance.
Article 4. This Decision takes effect from January 1, 2001. Previous provisions contrary to this Decision are hereby abolished.
Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
