DECREE

Regarding the establishment of Thai Binh City under Thai Binh Province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to Decree No. 72/2001/NĐ-CP dated October 5, 2001 of the Government on the classification of cities and urban management levels;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh Province.

DECREE:

Article 1. Thai Binh City under Thai Binh Province shall be established based on the entire natural area and population of Thai Binh Town.

Thai Binh City has an area of 4,330 hectares and a population of 143,925, comprising 13 administrative units including wards: Le Hong Phong, Bo Xuyen, De Tham, Ky Ba, Quang Trung, Phu Khanh, Tien Phong, Tran Lam, and communes: Hoang Duy, Dong Hoa, Phu Xuan, Vu Chinh, and Vu Phuc.

The administrative boundaries of Thai Binh City: East borders Kien Xuong District and Dong Hung District; West borders Vu Thu District; South borders Vu Thu District; North borders Dong Hung District.

Thai Binh Province has 8 district-level administrative units including districts: Dong Hung, Hung Ha, Quynh Phu, Thai Thuy, Vu Thu, Kien Xuong, Tien Hai, and Thai Binh City.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh Province, the Minister of Interior, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
