Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior,
DECISION:
Article 1. January 3 each year shall be the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Archives Sector, named "Vietnamese Archives Day."
Article 2. The organization of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Archives Sector annually must ensure practicality, effectiveness, and thriftiness with the following purposes:
1. Educating the tradition of the Vietnamese Archives Sector, raising awareness and sense of responsibility among those working in archival work and the entire society in protecting and promoting the value of archival documents to serve the cause of building and defending the country.
2. Encouraging the labor movement, enhancing discipline and professional ethics among cadres, civil servants, and staff in the Archives Sector.
3. Timely recognizing and rewarding individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in protecting and promoting the value of archival documents.
Article 3. This Decision takes effect from the date of signature.
Article 4. The Minister of Interior, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial and municipal People's Committees directly under the central government are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
