DECREE

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries, establishment of communes and towns under the city of Vị Thanh and district of Long Mỹ; renaming the city of Tân Hiệp to the city of Ngã Bảy, province of Hậu Giang belongs to Vi Thanh town, Long My district; change the name of Vi Thanh town Tân Hiệp to the city of Ngã Bảy, province of Hậu Giang

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hậu Giang Province.

DECREE

Article 1. Adjusting administrative boundaries, establishing communes and towns under the city of Vị Thanh and district of Long Mỹ; renaming the city of Tân Hiệp to the city of Ngã Bảy, province of Hậu Giang as follows:

1. Establishing the commune of Tân Tiến under the city of Vị Thanh based on adjusting 2,202.12 hectares of natural area and 7,089 population from the commune of Hoả Tiến.

The commune of Tân Tiến has 2,202.12 hectares of natural area and 7,089 population.

Administrative boundary of the commune of Tân Tiến: East borders the commune of Hoả Lựu; West borders the commune of Hoả Tiến; South borders the commune of Vĩnh Viễn; North borders Kiên Giang Province.

After adjusting the administrative boundary, the commune of Hoả Tiến remains with 2,032 hectares of natural area and 5,070 population.

The city of Vị Thanh has 11,879.99 hectares of natural area and 69,785 population, including 9 administrative units comprising wards I, III, IV, V, VII and communes Vị Tân, Hoả Lựu, Tân Tiến, Hoả Tiến.

2. Establishing the commune of Thuận Hoà under the district of Long Mỹ based on adjusting 2,700.77 hectares of natural area and 11,065 population from the commune of Thuận Hưng.

The commune of Thuận Hoà has 2,700.77 hectares of natural area and 11,065 population.

Administrative boundary of the commune of Thuận Hoà: East borders the commune of Long Phú; West borders the commune of Xà Phiên; South borders Sóc Trăng Province; North borders the commune of Thuận Hưng.

After adjusting the administrative boundary, the commune of Thuận Hưng remains with 2,170.89 hectares of natural area and 8,097 population.

3. Establishing the town of Trà Lồng under the district of Long Mỹ based on adjusting 713.56 hectares of natural area and 4,571 population from the commune of Long Phú.

The town of Trà Lồng has 713.56 hectares of natural area and 4,571 population.

Administrative boundary of the town of Trà Lồng: East borders the commune of Phương Phú, district of Phụng Hiệp; West and North border the commune of Tân Phú; South borders the commune of Hưng Phú, Sóc Trăng Province.

4. Establishing the commune of Tân Phú under the district of Long Mỹ based on adjusting 2,550.37 hectares of natural area and 9,060 population from the commune of Long Phú.

The commune of Tân Phú has 2,550.37 hectares of natural area and 9,060 population.

Administrative boundary of the commune of Tân Phú: East borders the commune of Phương Phú, district of Phụng Hiệp; West borders the commune of Long Phú; South borders the town of Trà Lồng and North borders the commune of Long Trị.

After adjusting the administrative boundary, the commune of Long Phú remains with 2,313.36 hectares of natural area and 9,881 population.

The district of Long Mỹ has 39,611.57 hectares of natural area and 159,677 population, including 12 administrative units comprising communes Long Trị, Tân Phú, Long Phú, Long Bình, Thuận Hoà, Thuận Hưng, Xà Phiên, Lương Tâm, Vĩnh Thuận Đông, Vĩnh Viễn and towns Long Mỹ, Trà Lồng.

5. Renaming the city of Tân Hiệp to the city of Ngã Bảy, province of Hậu Giang.

Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are abolished.

Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hậu Giang Province and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
