DECISION OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE BANK OF VIETNAM

Issuing regulations on the banking code system used in payment transactions
through the State Bank
- Based on the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam dated December 12, 1997 and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam dated June 17, 2003;

GOVERNOR OF THE STATE BANK OF VIETNAM

- Based on the Law on Credit Organizations dated December 12, 1997;

- At the proposal of the Director of the Accounting and Finance Department,

- BASED ON DECREE NO. 86/2002/ND-CP OF November 5, 2002 OF THE GOVERNMENT PROVIDING FOR THE FUNCTIONS, TASKS, POWERS AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF MINISTRIES AND GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AT THE MINISTERIAL LEVEL;

This Decision issues the "Regulations on the Banking Code System Used in Payment Transactions Through the State Bank."

Article 1. This Decision takes effect from January 1, 2004 and replaces Decision No. 59/2000/QĐ-NHNN2 dated February 22, 2000 of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam on the regulations on the banking code system for banks, credit organizations, and state treasuries having accounts at the State Bank to directly conduct payment transactions and Decision No. 412/2002/QĐ-NHNN dated April 25, 2002 on the issuance of banking codes in the inter-bank electronic payment system of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

Article 2. Other previous documents that provide regulations on banking codes used in payment transactions through the State Bank contrary to this Decision shall cease to be effective.

The Heads of the Office, Directors of the Accounting and Finance Department, Directors of the Banking Information Technology Bureau, Heads of units under the State Bank, Governors of the State Bank Transaction Departments, Governors of State Bank Branches in provinces and centrally governed cities, General Managers (Directors) of payment service providers are responsible for implementing this Decision.

Article 3. The Head of the Office, the Director of the Accounting and Finance Department, the Director of the Banking Information Technology Department, the Heads of units under the State Bank, the Governor of the State Bank Trading Department, the Governors of the State Bank Branches in provinces and centrally governed cities; the General Directors (Directors) of payment service providers are responsible for implementing this Decision.
