Regarding the adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Binh Minh District to establish Binh Tan District, Vinh Long Province

THE GOVERNMENT
Based on the Law on the Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of Binh Minh District shall be adjusted to establish Binh Tan District, Vinh Long Province as follows:
Establish Binh Tan District under Vinh Long Province based on the adjustment of 15,288.63 hectares of natural area and 93,758 population from Binh Minh District (including the entire natural area and population of the communes: My Thuan, Nguyen Van Thanh, Thanh Loi, Thanh Dong, Thanh Trung, Tan Koi, Tan Binh, Tan Thanh, Tan Hung, Tan Loc, Tan An Thanh).
Binh Tan District has 15,288.63 hectares of natural area and 93,758 population, with 11 administrative units directly under its jurisdiction, including the communes: My Thuan, Nguyen Van Thanh, Thanh Loi, Thanh Dong, Thanh Trung, Tan Koi, Tan Binh, Tan Thanh, Tan Hung, Tan Loc, Tan An Thanh.
The administrative boundaries of Binh Tan District: East borders Tam Binh District; Southwest borders Can Tho City; South borders Binh Minh District; North borders Dong Thap Province.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Binh Tan District:
Binh Minh District retains 9,152.62 hectares of natural area and 86,409 population, with 6 administrative units directly under its jurisdiction, including the communes: Dong Binh, Dong Thanh, My Hoa, Dong Thanh, Thuan An and Cai Von Town.
The administrative boundaries of Binh Minh District: East borders Tam Binh District; West borders Can Tho City; South borders Tra On District; North borders Binh Tan District.
Vinh Long Province has 8 administrative units directly under its jurisdiction, including the districts: Tra On, Tam Binh, Vu Giong, Mang Thit, Long Ho, Binh Minh, Binh Tan and Vinh Long City.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long Province and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
