THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION
Pursuant to Decree No. 22/CP dated March 22, 1994 of the Government stipulating the tasks, powers, responsibilities for state management, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport;
Considering the actual situation of the structure and types of motor vehicles currently in operation;
Upon the proposal of the Director of the Science and Technology Department, the Legal Affairs and Transportation Department, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, and the Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Administration;
DECISION:
Article 1. Now, amend Item 1.4 of the Regulations on the renovation of motor vehicles on public roads issued together with Decision No. 1362/2000/QĐ-BGTVT dated May 29, 2000 as follows:
1.4. It is not permitted to renovate and change the usage function of motor vehicles that have been in use for more than 15 years. Except for passenger cars currently operating in transportation services that have been in use for no more than 30 years, which may be renovated into cargo trucks (excluding specialized cargo trucks). The remaining contents of the Regulations on the renovation of motor vehicles on public roads issued together with Decision No. 1362/2000/QĐ-BGTVT dated May 29, 2000 remain valid.
Article 2. This Decision takes effect from the date of signature.
Article 3. AThe Office of the Ministry, the Director of the Science and Technology Department, the Director of the Legal Affairs and Transportation Department, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, the Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Administration, the Directors of the Departments of Transport and Public Works of the provinces and centrally governed cities, and the Heads of relevant units shall implement this Decision according to their functions and responsibilities.
