Based on the Law on the Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province,
RESOLUTION:
Article 1. Adjusting the administrative boundaries of Cai Lay District to establish Cai Lay Town and the remaining Cai Lay District; establishing wards under Cai Lay Town, Tien Giang Province
1. Establishing Cai Lay Town under Tien Giang Province based on adjusting 14,018.95 hectares of natural area and 123,775 population from Cai Lay District, including the entire natural area and population of Cai Lay Town and the communes My Phuoc Tay, My Hanh Dong, My Hanh Trung, Tan Phu, Tan Binh, Tan Hoi, Nhi My, Nhi Quy, Thanh Hoa, Phu Quy, Long Khanh.
a) Cai Lay Town has 14,018.95 hectares of natural area and 123,775 population.
b) The administrative boundary of Cai Lay Town: East borders Chau Thanh District; West and South border Cai Lay District; North border Tan Phuoc District.
2. Adjusting the administrative boundaries of Cai Lay Town and the communes Nhi My, Tan Binh to establish six wards under Cai Lay Town
a) Establishing Ward 1 under Cai Lay Town based on adjusting 68.36 hectares of natural area, 10,027 population from Cai Lay Town; 79.15 hectares of natural area, 995 population from Tan Binh Commune and 73.02 hectares of natural area, 405 population from Nhi My Commune.
- Ward 1 has 220.53 hectares of natural area and 11,427 population.
- The administrative boundary of Ward 1: East borders Ward 4 and Nhi My Ward; West borders Ward 2; South borders Ward 5; North borders Ward 3.
b) Establishing Ward 2 under Cai Lay Town based on adjusting 215.54 hectares of natural area, 3,854 population from Cai Lay Town and 133.65 hectares of natural area, 1,562 population from Tan Binh Commune.
- Ward 2 has 349.19 hectares of natural area and 5,416 population.
- The administrative boundary of Ward 2: East borders Ward 1 and Ward 3; West borders Cai Lay District; South borders Thanh Hoa Commune; North borders Tan Binh Commune.
c) Establishing Ward 3 under Cai Lay Town based on adjusting 278.19 hectares of natural area, 2,778 population from Tan Binh Commune and 57.56 hectares of natural area, 545 population from Nhi My Commune.
- Ward 3 has 335.75 hectares of natural area and 3,323 population.
- The administrative boundary of Ward 3: East borders Nhi My Ward; West borders Ward 2; South borders Ward 1; North borders My Hanh Trung Commune and Tan Binh Commune.
d) Establishing Ward 4 under Cai Lay Town based on adjusting 85.57 hectares of natural area, 4,858 population from Cai Lay Town and 118.17 hectares of natural area, 1,181 population from Nhi My Commune.
- Ward 4 has 203.74 hectares of natural area and 6,039 population.

a) Cai Lay Town has 14,018.95 hectares of natural area and 123,775 population; has 16 commune-level administrative units, including: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4, Ward 5, Nhi My Ward and the communes Tan Binh, My Phuoc Tay, My Hanh Dong, My Hanh Trung, Tan Phu, Tan Hoi, Nhi Quy, Thanh Hoa, Phu Quy, Long Khanh. Among them, Tan Binh Commune remains with 900.93 hectares of natural area and 5,669 population.
b) The remaining Cai Lay District has 29,599.37 hectares of natural area and 186,583 population; has 16 commune-level administrative units, including the communes Thanh Loc, My Thanh Bac, Phu Cuong, My Thanh Nam, Phu Nhu, Binh Phu, Cam Son, Phu An, My Long, Long Tien, Hiep Duc, Long Trung, Hoi Xuan, Tan Phong, Tam Binh and Ngua Hiep.
c) Tien Giang Province has 11 district-level administrative units, including My Tho City, Go Cong Town, Cai Lay Town and the districts: Cai Be, Go Cong Dong, Go Cong Tay, Cho Gao, Chau Thanh, Tan Phuoc, Cai Lay and Tan Phu Dong.
Article 2. This Resolution takes effect from the date of its promulgation.
Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Resolution./.
