Regarding the establishment of towns under Muong Lat,
Quan Son, and Hoang Ha districts, Thanh Hoa province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now establish towns under Muong Lat, Quan Son, and Hoang Ha districts, Thanh Hoa province as follows:
1. Establish Muong Lat town, the district capital of Muong Lat district based on 850 hectares of natural area and 2,850 population of Tam Chung commune.
Administrative boundary of Muong Lat town: East borders Tam Chung commune; West borders Ten Tan commune; South borders Pu Nhi commune; North borders Tam Chung commune.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish Muong Lat town, Tam Chung commune retains 12,198.11 hectares of natural area and 1,622 population.
2. Establish Quan Son town - the district capital of Quan Son district based on 579.40 hectares of natural area and 2,820 population of Son Lu commune.
Administrative boundary of Quan Son town: East borders Trung Thuong commune; West borders Son Lu commune; South borders Son Ha commune; North borders Trung Thuong commune.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish Quan Son town, Son Lu commune retains 5,916.87 hectares of natural area and 2,057 population.
3. Establish Tao Xuyen town under Hoang Ha district based on 60.80 hectares of natural area and 1,500 population of Hoang Anh commune, 168.94 hectares of natural area and 3,114 population of Hoang Long commune, 45.61 hectares of natural area and 502 population of Hoang Ly commune.
Tao Xuyen town has 275.35 hectares of natural area and 5,116 population.
Administrative boundary of Tao Xuyen town: East borders Hoang Anh commune; West borders Thanh Hoa city; South borders Hoang Long commune; North borders Hoang Ly commune.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish Tao Xuyen town:
- Hoang Anh commune retains 348.86 hectares of natural area and 4,100 population.
- Hoang Long commune retains 228.73 hectares of natural area and 2,571 population.
- Hoang Ly commune retains 289.50 hectares of natural area and 3,063 population.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
