OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE NO. 1332 TC/QLCS DATE: FEBRUARY 7, 2002
REGARDING THE HANDLING OF TWO-WHEEL MOTORCYCLES FOR OFFICIAL USE IN MINISTRIES, SECTORS, AND LOCALITIES
SECTOR, LOCALITY

Dear:

- Ministries, agencies equivalent to ministries, and government agencies;

- Central bodies of mass organizations;

- People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities.

In recent times, the Ministry of Finance has received opinions from some ministries, sectors, and localities requesting guidance on equipping two-wheel motorcycles for official use in administrative and public service agencies. Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Finance offers the following opinion:

The Ministry of Finance will compile the opinions of ministries, sectors, and localities to report to the Prime Minister regarding the regulations governing the use of two-wheel motorcycles for official use. In the meantime, to implement Directive No. 29/2001/CT-TTg dated November 30, 2001 of the Prime Minister on intensifying thrift and economy while combating waste, the Ministry of Finance requests agencies to base their regulations on the organizational structure and operational needs of subordinate units in specifying those units eligible for use of two-wheel motorcycles for official purposes according to the principle:

- Only equip two-wheel motorcycles for official use for certain administrative and public service units deemed necessary for common work purposes.

- Do not equip two-wheel motorcycles for official use for individual civil servants.
