OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
NO. 143/SL DATED FEBRUARY 28, 1953
THE PRESIDENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 198-SL dated June 13, 1948 amending Decree-Law No. 76-SL dated July 1, 1949 and Decree-Law No. 21-SL dated February 12, 1950 regarding the procedures for establishing and modifying administrative boundaries of Anti-French Resistance Areas;
Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 254-SL dated November 19, 1948 organizing local people's administration during the resistance period;
Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 127-SL dated November 4, 1949 merging two Anti-French Resistance Zones I and X into the Vietnam-North Zone;
In accordance with a resolution of the Council of Ministers,
ISSUES THE FOLLOWING DECREE- LAW:
Article 1: To consolidate the newly liberated Northwest base area, hereby establishes the Northwest Zone comprising Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Sơn La and Lai Châu provinces separated from the Vietnam-North Zone.
Article 2: The Prime Minister shall enforce this Decree-Law.
