DECREE OF THE GOVERNMENT
Regarding the establishment of towns under Nam Truc, Xuan Truong, My Loc, and Giao Thuy districts, Nam Dinh province
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province,

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Now establish towns under Nam Truc, Xuan Truong, My Loc, and Giao Thuy districts, Nam Dinh province as follows:
DECREE:
Article 1. 1. Establish Nam Giang town - the district town of Nam Truc district based on the entire 704.55 hectares of natural area and 18,047 population of Nam Giang commune.
The administrative boundary of Nam Giang town: East borders Nam Hung commune; West borders Vu Ban district; South borders Nam Duong commune; North borders Nam Cuong and Nghia An communes.
2. Establish Xuan Truong town - the district town of Xuan Truong district based on the entire 585.91 hectares of natural area and 11,506 population of Xuan Hung commune and 30.40 hectares of natural area of Xuan Ngoc commune.
Xuan Truong town has 616.31 hectares of natural area and 11,506 population.
The administrative boundary of Xuan Truong town: East borders Xuan Vinh and Xuan Trung communes; West borders Truc Ninh district; South borders Xuan Ninh, Xuan Kien, Xuan Tien, and Xuan Vinh communes; North borders Xuan Ngoc and Xuan Thuy communes.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Xuan Truong town, Xuan Ngoc commune retains 481 hectares of natural area and 6,322 population.
3. Establish My Loc town - the district town of My Loc district based on 221.71 hectares of natural area and 2,256 population of My Hung commune; 177.14 hectares of natural area and 1,587 population of My Thinh commune; 70.32 hectares of natural area and 517 population of My Thanh commune.
My Loc town has 469.17 hectares of natural area and 4,880 population.
The administrative boundary of My Loc town: East borders My Hung commune; West borders My Thinh commune; South borders My Thanh and My Hung communes; North borders My Tien commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish My Loc town:
My Hung commune retains 504.31 hectares of natural area and 6,075 population.
My Thinh commune retains 550.75 hectares of natural area and 3,764 population.
My Thanh commune retains 579.94 hectares of natural area and 4,339 population.
4. Establish Quat Lam town under Giao Thuy district based on the entire 759.41 hectares of natural area and 9,726 population of Giao Lam commune.
The administrative boundary of Quat Lam town: East borders Giao Phong commune; West borders Hai Hau district; South borders the East Sea; North borders Giao Thinh commune.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province, the Minister of Interior, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
