Regarding the establishment of Nam Can and Phu Tan districts, Ca Mau province

THE GOVERNMENT
On the basis of the Law on Government Organization dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of Cai Nuoc and Ngoc Hien districts are adjusted to establish Phu Tan and Nam Can districts in Ca Mau province as follows:
1. Establishing Phu Tan district based on 44,595 hectares of natural area and 109,642 population from Cai Nuoc district.
Phu Tan district has 44,595 hectares of natural area and 109,642 population; it includes 7 administrative units, namely Phu My commune, Phu Tan commune, Tan Hai commune, Viet Thang commune, Tan Hung Tay commune, Nguyen Viet Khai commune, and Cai Dau Vam town.
The administrative boundary of Phu Tan district: East borders Cai Nuoc district; West borders the East Sea; South borders Nam Can district; North borders Tran Van Thoi district.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Phu Tan district, Cai Nuoc district retains 39,514 hectares of natural area and 136,619 population; it includes 8 administrative units, namely Luong The Tran commune, Phu Hung commune, Hung My commune, Tan Hung commune, Tan Hung Dong commune, Dong Thoi commune, Tran Thoi commune, and Cai Nuoc town.
2. Establishing Nam Can district based on 53,291.40 hectares of natural area and 70,745 population from Ngoc Hien district.
Nam Can district has 53,291.40 hectares of natural area and 70,745 population; it includes 7 administrative units, namely Ham Rong commune, Dat Moi commune, Hang Vinh commune, Hiep Tung commune, Tam Giang commune, Tam Giang Dong commune, and Nam Can town.
The administrative boundary of Nam Can district: East and West border the East Sea; South borders Ngoc Hien district; North borders Phu Tan, Cai Nuoc, and Dam Dơi districts.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Nam Can district, Ngoc Hien district retains 74,329.87 hectares of natural area and 77,289 population; it includes 6 administrative units, namely Tam Giang Tay commune, Tan An commune, Tan An Tay commune, Vien An commune, Vien An Dong commune, and Dat Mui commune.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Cà Mau province, the Minister of Interior, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
