Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Measurement Ordinance dated October 6, 1999;

Pursuant to Decree No. 06/2002/NĐ-CP dated January 14, 2002 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Measurement Ordinance;

Pursuant to Decision No. 165/2004/QĐ-TTg dated September 21, 2004 of the Prime Minister approving the Master Plan for the Development of National Measurement Standards for the period 2004-2010;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Science and Technology,

DECISION:

Article 1. Approving 10 national measurement standards

1. Four basic quantities:

a) Length:

- Name of measurement standard: Stable frequency iodine-stabilized Helium-Neon laser wavelength source 633 nm.

Serial number: 206. Signature, code: WINTER Model 100.

b) Mass:

- Name of measurement standard: One-kilogram standard weight.

Serial number: VIE 982100/2. Signature, code: VIE 982100/2.

c) Time - Frequency:

- Name of measurement standard: Cesium atomic clock.

Serial number: 3608A01233. Signature, code: HP5071A.

d) Temperature:

Name of measurement standard: National temperature composite standard, including:

- Temperature fixed points:

+ Triple point of water.

+ Triple point of mercury.

+ Melting point of gallium.

Article 2. Responsibilities for maintaining, preserving, and utilizing national measurement standards

The Ministry of Science and Technology shall be responsible for maintaining, preserving, and utilizing national measurement standards to ensure their uniformity, interconnection, and accuracy.

Article 3. Effectiveness and Responsibility for Implementation

This decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial and centrally governed city People's Committees, and related organizations and individuals shall be responsible for implementing this Decision./.
