Pursuant to the Government Decree No. 68/CP dated October 11, 1993 on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health,
Based on the need to standardize medical equipment at various levels to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, healthcare services for the people in line with economic and social development,
At the proposal of: The Director of the Medical Equipment and Construction Department, the Treatment Department,

Article 1: Now, it is hereby established the list of medical equipment for provincial general hospitals, district general hospitals, regional multi-purpose clinics, and commune health stations (attached herewith).
Article 2: The Directors of the Health Departments of provinces and centrally governed cities shall base on the list of medical equipment for provincial general hospitals, district general hospitals, regional multi-purpose clinics, and commune health stations to develop overall planning for healthcare facilities from now until 2000 and 2005 in accordance with the economic and social development of each locality.
Article 3.- Heads of health sectors shall base on the regulations of the list of provincial general hospitals and district general hospitals to develop overall planning for healthcare facilities within their sectors.
Article 4.- This Decision takes effect from the date of signature.
Article 5.- Assign the following individuals: The Directors of the Medical Equipment and Construction Department, the Treatment Department to be responsible for guiding, monitoring, and evaluating the implementation of this Decision.
Article 6.- The Heads of the Office, the Directors of the Medical Equipment and Construction Department, the Treatment Department, and related departments under the Ministry of Health, the Directors of the Health Departments of provinces and centrally governed cities, and Heads of health sectors are responsible for implementing this Decision.
Note: The Ministry of Health will send the List of medical equipment for provincial general hospitals, district general hospitals, regional multi-purpose clinics, and commune health stations along with the Circular guiding the application of these documents. (The list is based on the draft list of medical equipment from the Standardization of Medical Equipment Conference at various levels, supplemented and revised according to the opinions of healthcare facilities and provincial health departments).
