Lightweight Concrete Block - Technical Requirements

Blocks of lightweight concrete – Specifications

1 Scope

This standard applies to lightweight concrete blocks manufactured from cement, fine aggregates, foaming agents or gas-forming materials for load-bearing structures, thermal insulation structures, and thermal insulation in construction projects.

2 Referenced Documents

3 General Provisions

Lightweight concrete blocks according to this standard are products in block form with dry bulk density ranging from 400 to 1200 kg/m³.3.

Foaming agents are surface-active substances that form stable foam when strongly dispersed in water.

Gas-forming agents are metal powders (Al, Zn, etc.) capable of reacting with Ca(OH)₂2 to produce hydrogen (H₂2) or other gases.

4 Classification, Basic Dimensions, and Conventional Symbols

4.1 According to dry bulk density, lightweight concrete blocks are classified into the following grades:

D400, D500, D600, D700, D800, D900, D1000, D1100, D1200

4.2 According to compressive strength at 28 days converted to standard moisture content of 10%, lightweight concrete blocks are classified into the following grades:

M10, M15, M20, M25, M30, M35, M50, M75, M100

4.3 According to dimensions, the basic dimensions of lightweight concrete blocks are specified in Table 1
