DECREE OF THE GOVERNMENT
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries and the establishment of communes under the districts of Tan Hiep, Kien Luong, Hon Dat, and Chau Thanh, Kiengiang Province
and Chuau Thanh, Kiên Giang province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang Province and the Minister of Home Affairs,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted, and communes are established under the districts of Tan Hiep, Kien Luong, Hon Dat, and Chau Thanh, Kiengiang Province as follows:
1. Adjusting 434.71 hectares of natural area and 1,232 inhabitants of Thanh Dong commune under Tan Hiep district, and 2,671.19 hectares of natural area and 13,233 inhabitants of Thanh Dong B commune under Tan Hiep district to be managed by Tan Hiep town.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries, Tan Hiep town will expand as follows:
- Tan Hiep town will have 3,217.20 hectares of natural area and 19,929 inhabitants.
- Thanh Dong commune will remain with 5,010.83 hectares of natural area and 16,885 inhabitants.
- Thanh Dong B commune will remain with 2,871.16 hectares of natural area and 8,180 inhabitants.
2. Establishing Phu Loi commune under Kien Luong district based on 4,697 hectares of natural area and 3,693 inhabitants of Phu My commune.
Phu Loi commune will have 4,697 hectares of natural area and 3,693 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Phu Loi commune: East borders Vinh Diao commune; West borders the Kingdom of Cambodia; South borders Phu My commune; North borders Tan Khanh Hoa commune.
After establishing Phu Loi commune, Phu My commune will remain with 10,151 hectares of natural area and 4,591 inhabitants.
3. Establishing Vinh Phu commune under Kien Luong district based on 12,366.07 hectares of natural area and 7,426 inhabitants of Vinh Diao commune.
Vinh Phu commune will have 12,366.07 hectares of natural area and 7,426 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Vinh Phu commune: East borders Hon Dat district and An Giang province; West borders Vinh Diao commune; South borders Kien Binh and Hoa Duyen communes; North borders the Kingdom of Cambodia.
After establishing Vinh Phu commune, Vinh Diao commune will remain with 9,765.18 hectares of natural area and 3,637 inhabitants.
4. Establishing Linh Huy commune under Hon Dat district based on 2,174.83 hectares of natural area and 6,999 inhabitants of Tho Son commune.
Linh Huy commune will have 2,174.83 hectares of natural area and 6,999 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Linh Huy commune: East borders Tho Son commune; West borders the East Sea; South borders Tho Son commune and the East Sea; North borders Binh Son commune and Hon Dat town.
After establishing Linh Huy commune, Tho Son commune will remain with 5,920.17 hectares of natural area and 11,096 inhabitants.
5. Establishing My Thai commune under Hon Dat district based on 5,935 hectares of natural area and 5,124 inhabitants of Nam Thai Son commune.
My Thai commune will have 5,935 hectares of natural area and 5,124 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of My Thai commune: East borders My Hiep Son commune; West borders Nam Thai Son commune; South borders Son Kien commune; North borders An Giang province.
After establishing My Thai commune, Nam Thai Son commune will remain with 18,175 hectares of natural area and 7,103 inhabitants.
6. Establishing Vinh Hoa Phu commune under Chau Thanh district based on 2,668.58 hectares of natural area and 11,237 inhabitants of Vinh Hoa Hiep commune.
Vinh Hoa Phu commune will have 2,668.58 hectares of natural area and 11,237 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Vinh Hoa Phu commune: East borders Minh Luong town and Binh An commune; West borders An Bien district; South borders Binh An commune; North borders Vinh Hoa Hiep commune and Rach Gia city.
After establishing Vinh Hoa Phu commune, Vinh Hoa Hiep commune will remain with 1,517.31 hectares of natural area and 14,074 inhabitants.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
